fall food is probably the best around, including apple crisp! i finally attempted to make apple crisp and it turned out delicious, so i had to share it with you! this recipe only makes a small amount, so keep that in mind! i’d say it would give about 6-8 people a nice size helping of dessert.
i tend to cook without recipes or measurements, so i will do my best relating what i did. here goes!
what i used:
- 3 apples from a fruit stand
- 2 packets of oatmeal (one plain and one maple/brown sugar)
- 3 tbs butter
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- enough cinnamon for a thin layer across the top of the casserole dish
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup flour
- 3/4 tbs toasted wheat germ (for added health; not required!!)
- 9×13 in casserole dish
- aluminum foil
what i did:
chunk up apples and lay in casserole dish
add both sugars, cinnamon, butter, wheat germ and flour
top with oatmeal and a little more cinnamon
bake at 350 for about 35-40 mins (take off aluminum foil for last 10 mins to crisp it up)
let cool and enjoy! nom nom nom!!
